AI-Illustrated Children's Book — Creative AI (Diffusion Models)
Authored and self-published a 48-page hardcover children's book in 2024 named “A Birthday to Remember: Daarlo's Grand Forest Gala“ as a hands-on research project into generative AI image production for long-form illustrated storytelling. The core technical challenge was achieving character consistency in the year 2024. Ensuring the protagonist Daarlo and her elephant companion Harlo retained coherent visual identity across dozens of illustrations spanning different scenes, lighting conditions, and compositions, a problem that remains genuinely difficult during early 2023 & 2024 on those text-to-image systems. The project involved systematic experimentation with prompting strategies, style anchoring techniques, and iterative refinement workflows to maintain narrative visual coherence across the full book. The published result is available through Amazon.com and serves as a practical demonstration of applied generative AI in a creative production context, bridging the gap between research-level understanding of diffusion models and real-world content delivery. The project informed a broader understanding of where current generative image models succeed and where they still fall short.
